  • This project involves the design and implementation of a mentoring ministry in the church at Cross Point in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Ch. 1 introduces the purpose, goals, background and rationale for the project. Ch. 2 investigates the biblical foundations for mentoring, dealing with two Old Testament passages and several New Testament passages examining Paul as a mentor and Jesus as the ideal mentor. Ch. 3 explores historical as well as contemporary models of mentoring. Particular attention is given to the various components of mentoring, levels of mentoring relationships, as well as how mentoring is utilized today inside both religious and secular spheres. Ch. 4 describes each step in the process of implementing the mentoring ministry within a local church. Ch. 5 evaluates the goals of the project as well as the research findings.
