Abstract
  • The research project consists in a descriptive analysis of the conversion stories of six Catholic Chinese religious Sisters based on first-person narratives of conversion (collected through interviews) and on a psychological personality evaluation and a summary of long-term intensive 'vocational growth therapy.' The subjects are well-functioning middle-aged persons. They narrate their entire journey of conversion. Throughout the case studies, the holistic theory of Lewis Rambo and the normative theories of Donald Gelpi and Walter Conn are used to analyze the process of initial and ongoing conversion. The theories are found to be helpful instruments for a better understanding of the conversion process.
