- Abstract
- The project developed from the desire of a congregation to follow God's direction, but were unclear of that direction. The thesis of this project is that the shared praxis approach can be a catalyst for congregational leaders to discern God's will. During an eight-week workshop based on the shared praxis approach, congregational leaders prayed, read scripture, meditated, and discussed what it meant to seek the kingdom of God in the hope of discerning God's will for the congregation's corporate mission and direction. The project was deemed a success as the congregation followed the shared praxis movements to arrive at the conclusion that God's will for the congregation includes striving for the kingdom of God by spreading love to others while continuing in the listening and discerning process.
