Abstract

God endows each person with certain gifts. God calls each person into active Christian service, including the service of leadership as a part of God's redeeming act of creation. The set of gifts God gives to those elected to serve on Session may be used to the spiritual advantage and growth of that particular Session and congregation. Nine elders spent four months studying Bible passages related to spiritual gifts. Both before and after the study a questionnaire was administered that was designed to be an aid for the discernment of specific gifts. there were changes in the discernment of gifts.
