Abstract
  • This project proposes that multiple approaches to contextual evangelism are essential for effective communication of the gospel in postmodern culture. Drawing on parish evangelism experience and conceptual models of contextual evangelism developed by Stephen B Bevans, the project presents a working definition of contextual evangelism and suggests responsible use of multiple approaches by Lutheran Christians. In a parish setting the project applies the conceptual model to Evangelism Explosion, Small-Group Evangelism, and Servant Evangelism.
