Abstract
  • This project developed a process for discovering the relationship potential of a cluster of United Methodist churches seeking revitalization. The model was tested in the Barberton/Norton Cluster of the greater Akron, Ohio, area. Contextual associates from the five churches studied their context, constructed a theological model, and systematically evaluated the current status and potential of church relationship before designing the process. This model describes the process and presents its conclusions and evaluation. The results indicate that cooperative efforts can engender a new appreciation for the connectional nature of the denomination and help churches move toward vitality and mission.
