  • Huntington's Disease is an incurable, inherited, degenerative, neurological illness with symptoms usually appearing between 18 and 40 years of age. Death comes gradually often taking 10 to 20 years. Ministering to these patients is a challenge because as speech fails, the patient becomes more frustrated which complicates the relationship to the minister and others. The longevity of the disease often creates a severe burden for the family as well as the patient physically, emotionally and financially. The minister can be a source of emotional and spiritual support which is vitally needed during this crisis.
