- Abstract
- The exercise of faithful stewardship of one's life and possessions is a sign of a Christian's fidelity to the Gospel. Spiritual tensions arise in personal and community contexts when faithful Christian stewardship is not practiced. This Doctor of Ministry Project researched the underlying biblical and historical sources of Orthodox offering practices. Members of three Orthodox Christian mission parishes were engaged in a dialog, to probe existing beliefs and practices of financial offering and the explore the Orthodox vision of stewardship. The broader goal was to garner insight into how Orthodox stewardship practices can foster personal and communal spiritual development.
