Abstract
  • Christine E Blair; Charles Mendenhall. This project proposes to stimulate theological thinking among pastoral caregivers on the nature and use of prayers, blessings, and rituals as instruments with the potential to heal and transform. From the perspective of a chaplain in a health care setting--Brooke Army Medical Center--care of the soul is an important element in the birthing, recovery, or dying of a patient. In any one of these situations prayers and blessings provide a vehicle for healing and transformation. Those affected find meaning in their lives.
