- Abstract
- This project assessed the impact of narrative and propositional preaching on the content retention of youth ages eight to fifteen. Content retention was measured through a pre- and post-test. Personal impact was measured by interviews. A series of ten sermons was preached, evenly divided in style between narrative and propositional. It was concluded that the actual content was more important than the form it was presented in. Neither form rated higher in specific impact. Narrative preaching was determined to be significantly better for content retention in homeschool and Christian school students compared to public school students.
