Abstract
  • This thesis addresses the challenge of preaching to the varied generations found in a congregation. It seeks to identify the form and content of preaching which are most effective for each generation and the nature of preaching which transcends generational differences. The principle that generational cohorts have a personality is the foundation for differentiating between generations and identifying a preaching style for each generation. The thesis project shows that the generational model can be used to form sermons that address particular generations as well as build understanding between the generations. It offers suggestions for the development of cross-generational preaching.
