Abstract
  • This project traces the author's personal history of involvement in community organizing efforts and examines the development of techniques to apply community organizing theory to congregational renewal. Field testing within the Northern California Conference of the United Church of Christ is chronicled and critiqued through six case studies. Application of the techniques reveals that there is significant potential for congregational renewal through the direct application of community organizing theories to congregational life.
