Abstract
  • The author studied the process by which three small Chinese churches in the greater Philadelphia region became one church in March 2002 in order to find the principles and a model that could guide other churches through the process of consolidation. A threefold method, of personal interviews coupled with a survey, a time-line exercise, and interviews coupled with questionnaires, was used. Printed church literature was consulted too. The result was a narrative account of the three churches in the consolidation, the proposal of six biblical and organizational principles and a model incorporating three phases to guide the process.
