Abstract

The purpose of this project was to equip selected married couples of the First Baptist Church of Alexander City, AL, to participate in a premarital counseling ministry. The goals of this project were (1) to research how to equip the selected group, (2) to develop a course of study that will equip the selected group, and (3) to equip the selected group to assist the pastor in counseling premarital couples. The teaching methods administered during eight training sessions included lectures, videotapes, audiotapes, personal inventories, couple inventories, general evaluations, and homework assignments. The evaluation process was conducted by a pretest/posttest and experts in the field. results of the evaluation process indicated that the goals were achieved.
