Abstract
  • This dissertation was an evaluation and response to the employment of the meta-church at Stratford Park Chapel in Champaign, Illinois. The small groups were expanded to become a meta-church model in September 1993 with the evaluation ending April 1994. The thesis (using empirical research) was to show that the meta-church model would have immediate and long-term qualitative and quantitative effects upon the church. The results of the program and research included 4 small groups with 43 adults increasing to 11 with 101 adults, with an increase from 42 percent to 81 percent participation in April 1994. Additional research and surveys showed results attributable to the program.
