Abstract
  • The purpose of the study is to bring some of the findings and insights gained from an analysis of the principles of communication to bear on the process of communication involved in preaching. The study especially focuses on feedback in order to show ways in which the understanding and utilization of the feedback factor can improve communication in the preaching situation. A project involving the use of sermon feedback groups set up in six local churches is described. The sermon feedback experience is analyzed from both the perspective of the clergy and lay participants. Observations, learnings, and conclusions are identified.
