Abstract
  • The thesis of this paper is that supervised communal theological reflection empowers laity for ministry. The opening chapters contain biblical and doctrinal material concerning the priesthood of all believers, a rationale for collaborative 'supervision' of lay ministry, and a study of theological reflection as a relevant discipline for laity. The author explores the empowering benefits of this in chapter four. In chapter five, a step-by-step guide to instituting and using an innovative model of theological reflection in the local church is expounded. Chapter six serves to illustrate the model and method with two case studies.
