- Abstract
- The purpose of this project was to inquire into the biblical, theological, and practical relationship between preaching and worship, and thereby to identify and practice ways in which preaching can be more integrally incorporated into worship. The main proposition is that, because the key element in worship is response to God, and his revelation, and because preaching seeks to expound God's revelation for his people, the natural order is for preaching to come early in a worship service, to be followed by significant worship response time. Evaluation was made of the current practice of preaching in worship in the congregation served by the project writer, and, by use of a survey in other churches in Canada. Principles were developed for integrating preaching and worship more effectively. These principles were tested and evaluated in the worship services of Crossroads Community Church over a three-month period.
