Abstract
  • Conversational preaching in a congregation is one of many on-going conversations in a congregation. Paying attention to those conversations bridges a gap that exists in the congregation, leads to a connection between the preacher/leader and congregation and consequently provides the arena for significant preaching and shared ministry. This author used methods of research, experience, case study, and conversations with congregational members. The conclusion of this study demonstrates that when the preacher pays attention to the on-going conversations and culture, there is an honoring and appreciation of one another that closes the gap between the pulpit and the pew.
