Abstract
  • The author explored the stories of six new fathers from a hermeneutical and phenomenological perspective. He focusssed on the question: What is the experience of being a new father? He analysed the stories for the themes and then retold them from a new father's as well as from a thematic viewpoint. The stories display the dynamic structure of the traditional doctrine of the Trinity. What at first sight appear as simple experiences and upon further reflection as sound psychological truths, reveal a deep structure, profoundly reminiscent of the attempts of our spiritual ancestors to apprehend ultimate realities.
