Abstract

“Table Talks: Having Tough Conversations in the Local Church,” is a doctoral project that took place at Kenova United Methodist Church in Kenova, West Virginia. This project was done over three sessions. Each session focused around the topic of racism, and how this could be done in a predominately white church and community. The participants learned about how much racism shaped the local communities, and due to this history and what they learned in each session they are eager to continue as a group to learn more, and turn what they have learned into further ministry to combat racism within the surrounding communities.
