Abstract

The author serves as an urban evagelist missionary with the Foreign Mission Board (Southern Baptist Convention) in Mwanza, Tanzania, East Africa. He heard about a great spiritual harvest in the villages of Tanzania, and wondered if the cities might prove to be responsive as well. After completing misisonary training he designed a project which trained forty village pastors in urban church planting and discipleship. The pastors were trained and two new churches were started through the use of evangelistic teams. The author concluded that additional methods were needed to reach the city.
