  • This project develops a biblically based, Christ-centered program to encourage spiritual growth of people involved with Alcoholics Anonymous and its twelve-step program toward recovery, demonstrating in the process the pragmatic spiritual truth and healing power of the Beatitudes (Matt 5:3-10). Three study classes enlist 14 participants--seven from AA and seven 'average church attendees'--in a seven-week survey of the Beatitudes. Narrative contributions of participants indicate that these 'seven spiritual steps' can provide a context for growth in spiritual knowledge, understanding, and practice.
