Abstrait

There is dismay inside and outside the church in North America regarding its identity, especially as it relates to the task of evangelism. In this qualitative study of one particular congregation, the vital relationship between the praxis of evangelism and how we understand Christian identity will be examined. A brief survey in the Gospel narratives will be offered to observe the role of Jesus' identity in his ministry and evangelistic witness. A theological review of the modern reductionism of the gospel and the praxis of evangelism in North America will lead toward a renewed biblical framework for each, rooted in the reign of God. Practical characteristics of Christian identity will then be considered for how the praxis of evangelism can shape one's understanding of the Body of Christ and themselves as a part of it.
