Abstract
  • This project created a reproducible mentoring primer for lay-leaders in the Igreja Missionaria Comunidade Shalom in Londrina, Brazil. Despite remarkable numerical growth of the Brazillian evangelical church over the past twenty years, it continues to weather a sever integrity crisis. Directive Mentoring fuses the relational strength of mentoring with the learning strength of discipleship to form Christian character through encouragement, accountability and biblical praxis. Six strategic lay-leaders participated in the documented, three month pilot project. Data from evaluative tools and personal interviews positively assessed the feasability and effectiveness of Directive Mentoring towards forming a sound, biblical Brazilian church through mentoring.
