- This project grew out of enthusiasm for preaching and for the spirituality of philosopher Diogenes Allen. The author preached a series of four sermons, each covering an aspect of Allen's spiritual theology, hoping to foster tangible change in the congregation's practice of love of God and neighbor. The author read in the areas of spiritual theology and preaching, and he interviewed ten parishioners on their experiences of the spiritual life. The result of the project was a new understanding of preacing and a new vision of spirituality.
