Abstract
  • The goal of this project was to provide early adolescents an opportunity to learn the facts concerning sex and sexuality from a biblical perspective in order to counteract negative, inaccurate information often obtained from the media and their peers. Foundations of this study come from research in developmental theory, biological development and faith development. Project areas are: God's gift of sexuality, the human body, sexually transmitted disease, self-esteem, peer-pressure, concepts of love and decision-making. This abstinence-based project has become part of the human sexuality program of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
