Abstract
  • This project began with realization that congregational renewal needs to happen in mainline churches today because many churches are declining in membership and worship attendance. To get congregations 'on the way' toward a revitalized spirit, this project presents through a leadership conference the conceptual (culture and leadership) and theological (church identity) foundations of an integrated pathway (spiritual, structural, theological, and conceptual) of renewal. This leadership conference was enthusiastically received and evaluations indicate that the participants saw the need for congregational reform and a sense of commitment to the revitalization of Valentine Church.
