Abstrakt

The project chronicles 100 years of history of a Chinese American church in California. This history tells how a mission became an independent church with the direction and programs altered due to changes in immigration laws, the community, and the society in general. The method of study includes library research, historical material collection, and interviews. Besides writing a history of a local church, the 19th century theology of mission was evaluated, and a Chinese American theology of mission was developed.
