Abstrakt

A Critical Analysis of Preaching in the National Baptist Convention USA, Incorporated (NBCUSA): The Socio-Cultural and Existential Reality of Women reveals that the largest branch of the Black Church is failing to fulfill its legacy of speaking prophetically against the mistreatment of all human beings, which is ostensibly believed by the Black Church to be a sacred violation. With a womanist approach as defined by Delores Williams and practical theology as methodology outlined by Richard R. Osmer, the study provides examples of how preachers are committing homiletical and hermeneutical homicide against women via preaching, biblical interpretation and polity.
