Abstract
  • All individuals have gifts to do ministry. Present, one-dimensional clericalism discourages the priesthood of all believers. This study encourages a multifaceted approach to ministry through teaching, preaching, and action. Worship is used as a basis for an understanding that we offer ministry, and that our priesthood, ordained or lay, can sanctify the whole world. Interventions in Anglican ritual that encourage a rethinking are used: gathering, study, prayer, table, and sending forth. The entrenched patriarchal model, community expectations and a passive laity are strong controllers of the conclusions.
