Abstract
  • In this project the writer attempted to foster discipleship growth through a process of six sermons, study and a weekend retreat. This process focused on the call of God with the intention that at the end of the experience participants would define a specific call of God to which they could respond. This project assumed that the articulation of a call would foster discipleship growth. The process proposed did not produce the desired results. The author concluded that 'the call of God is found in the needs of humankind and is embraced in the faithful response to those needs by a group'. Response to a need was the root for discipleship formation.
