Abstract
  • The study investigates the current use of personal computers by clergy in their ministry. It uses questionnaires and interviews. Analysis of the data shows that 1) a variety of computer resources are available but most use is limited to mail lists and writing; 2) congregations need to evaluate such resources according to their own needs, values, and sense of mission; and 3) greater and more creative use is possible, especially in areas of education and social action. Included are criteria for evaluation of computer uses, guidelines for purchasing, a survey of resources, and explanations of possible uses.
