Abstrakt

This project analyzes the house church in terms of its concepts in the first century, its context in the Greco-Roman world, the content of its practices in the New Testament, its implications for the small group's concepts in the twenty-first century, its context in the Filipino world, and the content of its contemporary theology. Chapter 1 introduces the contemporary Filipino small group, its problems, the proposed solution, and the anticipated results. Chapter 2 investigates relevant literature. Chapter 3 introduces the first century church, investigates and interprets the context of the Greco-Roman house churches, and integrates the concept of the New Testament house churches with their Greco-Roman context and the content of their practices. Chapter 4 introduces the concepts of the twenty-first century church and small group, investigates and interprets Filipino small groups, and integrates the content of New Testament church practices with contemporary small group theology. Chapter 5 presents the results on the New Testament house churches and their implications for Filipino small groups. Chapter 6 concludes with recommendations for further research and plans of implementation at Greenhills Christian Fellowship Northeast.
