Abstract
  • Effective shepherding is necessary in any size congregation. This ministry belongs to the whole church. Lectures, seminars, books, interviews and experience have confirmed that the shepherding ministry can revitalize a congregation and transform the lives of people when pastor and people work together to develop and implement a ministry peculiar to their local needs and circumstances. There must be 'ownership' of the ministry before it can be effective. The motivation for ministry must derive from a vital relationship with Jesus Christ and genuine love for people. Christians are called to be 'faithful' in ministry, not necessarily to be successful.
