Abstract
  • My purpose in this project was to lead one church, South Side Baptist Church, through a process of vision discovery and goal formulation. My thesis was that congregational input and participation in discovery and development of a vision would enhance ownership and increase intentional ministry effectiveness in a church with no clear sense of purpose, vision and direction. The method of study involved extensive research regarding church growth, development of an eight-session teaching plan, and presentation of the plan within the local church. The result of the study was a vision statement embraced and owned by the people, as well as future direction and a sense of purpose in the church.
