- Abstract
- The body of Christ is broken. Members of the body of Christ and our natural world are excluded from experiencing wholeness and life due to injustice, discrimination, inaccurate readings of scripture, and lack of discipleship. This happens when a church has not carefully examined scripture, which clearly shares with us Christ's desire for us to heal the broken body of Christ. It is clear that Jesus asks church members to re-member the broken body of Christ. By re-membering, I mean that we are called to re-engage those who have been excluded. I believe a church that is engaged in re-membrance of Christ's body is a church that has identity, purpose, and a clear understanding of what discipleship means.
