Abstract
  • This study shows that Jewish family education is an effective strategy for meeting the contemporary challenges facing contemporary Jewish families and synagogues. By examining theories on the formation of Jewish identity, this study underscores the primary role of the family in the creation of Jewish identity. The study looks at the Jewish family from historical and sociological perspectives and investigates the contemporary situation of the American Jewish family. The research indicates that Jewish family education is an important tool for synagogues as they strive to help families become the primary teachers of their children as well as the inculcators of Jewish identity.
