This project proposes that the form of a biblical text should have significant influence on the form of a sermon crafted from that text, applying this approach to the pronouncement stories of the Synoptic Gospels. The project examines the form and function of these stories and evolves sermon strategies sensitive to the literary characteristics of the form, in order to develop, present, and evaluate five sermons from selected pronouncement stories. Such an approach offers exciting possibilities for preaching.
