- Abstract
- This project proposes, designs, implements, and evaluates a discipleship ministry through 'cell-based' small groups in Woodlawn Christian Church (Knoxville, Tenn), in order to determine the usefulness of faith development theory in the discipleship process. Defining discipleship as a 'lifelong journey of commitment to Christ in every area of life within Christian community, the project explores James W Fowler's work in faith development, conducts a survey of discipleship attitudes and actions in the congregation, and proceeds to a concrete plan of making discipleship through the cell model of ministry.
