Abstract

The purpose of this project is to equip selected members of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church, Douglasville, Georgia, with essential disciple-making skills. The priority of any Christian church should be discipleship. Without discipleship training, evangelism, missions, worship, and Christians engaging in fellowship with one another, the church’s health will diminish. The mission of the church is to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:19). Because of this God-mandated mission, a curriculum for equipping members of the church to become disciple-making leaders is essential for longterm church growth and health. I trained selected Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church members to disciple new, immature Christians, and other church members who want to grow in their Christian faith. I developed the discipleship training by researching the area of discipleship and synthesizing the information into a discipleship curriculum to equip the selected members with essential disciple-making skills. Selected members learned skills and techniques during four training sessions that will enable them to lead others in discipleship training.
