Abstract

The purpose of this project was to develop a disciple making strategy for Florida Baptist Convention African American community church plants. The project director designed this project utilizing the Strategy Planning model. The project began with the director researching a variety of disciple making methodologies. Secondly, the project director enlisted a select group of pastors, churches and convention staff, and associational workers to serve on a strategic task force. Thirdly, the director and task force developed a strategy for disciple making in an African American community church plant. A group of pastors and churches assigned to the project director participated in the project by teaching some disciple making materials to their congregations. Finally, this aspect of the project was followed by presenting the strategy to the project director's supervisor, Dr Maxie Miller, Team Strategist for the African American Church Planting Team for approval.
