- Abstract
- This paper asserts that many pastors of the Reformed Church in America have become focused, via their educational training and tradition, toward cognitive learning and leadership at the expense of a more holistic one. The thesis is that most pastors are locked into leadership forms that reinforce their comfort zone and emotional needs. The structure of this paper consists of four components: surveys, biblical exploration, contemporary influences and personal insights. A final chapter is a personal epistle to the author's colleagues encouraging reflection and dialogue.
