  • This project helped create programs of caregiving among members of Bethany Christian Church, El Paso, Texas. The study involved eight learning sessions that identified the strengths which members had for a ministry of care. Individuals were trained to creatively use skills of caregiving to members and to the mission community of Bethany Christian Church in time of need. The project also provided ways for participants who were unable to attend the sessions to become involved in caregiving. Responsibilities in prayer cells, taking food to those in need, visiting the sick, creating a caregiving library, identifying professional community care resources, and participation in support groups also gave opportunity for members to become part of the caregiving ministry of Bethany Christian Church.
