Abstract
  • Can effective theological preparation that exemplifies and fosters mutuality be done in a California border context? Through historical and case study investigation, the author assesses the current dynamic of the Mexicali Baptist Seminary. The research shows that there remains much to be done for the Seminary to foster mutuality in ministry. Problems, resulting mainly from economic realities and power and authority issues, pose serious obstacles. If the seminary is to adequately prepare for mutuality in ministry, innovations are needed at all levels of seminary life -- its purpose statement, personnel, programs, basic curriculum, faculty, and administration.
