- Abstract
- This project examines pastoral care issues concerning kidney donation and transplantation as treatment for end-stage renal disease in the African American community. Based on the author's experience as a chaplain in Methodist Medical Center in Dallas and writings of authors who address concerns voiced by African Americans, the project proposes that pastoral care should engage ministry in ways that will allow patients to manage their own affairs and to make informed decisions for themselves.
