- Congregational preaching can be enhanced through feedback. The theological basis for preaching and communication within the congregation are defined. All good communication requires feedback. Three models of congregational feedback and critique were created: listening group, Sunday worshippers and adult education classes. A model for feedback from peers is also explored. The most important elements of preaching are defined by each group and contrasted with Baylor University's definition of effective preaching. It is revealed how much more concrete and practical congregations define preaching than does Baylor. The reluctance to receive feedback and obstacles to enhancing Lutheran preaching are explored. Preaching was enhanced.
