Abstract
  • In this project the author drew on early church and sixteenth century Reformed church liturgical history to change his congregation's worship. The project involved studies, church library resources, sermons and Psalms, historical services, and church newsletter articles on worship history. There were controversies over the inception of a worship committee, the question of using wine instead of the current grape juice for communion, the frequency of communion, and inclusive language for God. Changes took place in weddings, church funerals, baptisms, and the regular Sunday liturgy.
