Abstract
  • This paper presents the theoretical and theological design of celebrative preaching and follows a three-year Parish Preaching Project. The situation is an inner city, intergenerational congregation. The complication is in the question, 'Is there a design or style of preaching that reaches all generations and ultimately strengthens the community?' The resolution is in the thesis statement: the celebrative design in preaching is a vehicle that will allow the preacher the opportunity to preach to all five geenrations. This ultimately leads the listeners to the celebration which is the assurance of the grace of God in Christ Jesus.
