- Abstract
- After reviewing anger from various theoretical viewpoints, this project investigated clergy's perceptions of their own anger and then proposed guidelines for dealing constructively with that anger. A psychometric tool, the 'Anger Self Report', was adminstered to a population of Texas Panhandle Southern Baptist clergy. Areas explored included awareness of anger, general expresison of anger, physical expression of anger, verbalization of guilt and anger, condemnation of anger, and mistrust. A workshop which focused on the dynamics and healthful handling of anger had the goal of assisting researc participants to use their anger in a more effective and positive manner in their proffessional and personal lives.
